The Challenge
Sir Charles Gardiner hospital aimed to improve ICU (Intensive Care Unit) patient outcomes and reduce staff time loss by addressing patient stress and anxiety caused by unfamiliarity with the environment.
The Actions
- Created a virtual tour of the ICU ward using Facilitate's 360 Scenario Creator.
- Implemented VR headsets for patients to view the tour from their beds.
- Measured stress and anxiety levels pre- and post-VR experience.

- Significantly decreased patient anxiety and stress levels after VR tour experience.
- Reduced nursing staff time spent on orientation.
The Challenge
NSW Central Coast Local Health District needed to provide more impactful patient interaction training for healthcare practitioners. In particular, sensitive and difficult topics such as self-harm safety planning. Current eLearn scenarios were limited in their ability to provide emotional realistic learning experiences.
The Actions
- Created a set of 360 video based conversational experiences where the practitioner is having a sensitive conversation with a patient.
- Made these experiences accessible to frontline staff via VR headsets.
The Result
- Provided a much more emotionally realistic learning experience for practitioners Improved the overall learning experience from just an eLearn module.
- Reduced the need for in-person role playing scenarios during training.
The Challenge
A large US based healthcare provider with both location specific (ward layout) and procedural learning (patient transfer) use cases. They required a VR self-authoring solution that can create 360 degree imagery based content as well as 3D simulations.
The Actions
They used Facilitate's multi modality creator tools to address both use cases:
- 360 Scenario creator for their ward tours and hospital campus orientation.
- Microsimulations for their patient transfer and bedside procedures
The Result
- Multi modality VR content creation is now an internal capability.
- The content created is VR headset and PC compatible.
- No reliance on outsourced agencies - creation is in-house, specific to them and scalable to other use cases.
